I bought these to replace my original GX bulbs that one stopped working 2 months after warranty, and the new GX LEDs are dimmer than the original ones. I debated on getting the ultras but figured I’d stick with what was working for me. I’m not sure if you changed the LEDs that were used or the ballasts but they are dimmer. Also on a side note I’ve now gone thru 3 pairs of yellow for LEDs that I got from Amazon (Auxbeam brand) and one keep failing. Over the years I’ve bought over a dozen of your led bulbs, pods and light bars. It seems like quality control has gone down as time has gone by. Trying to stick with your brand but recently I’ve hit a run of defective stock sent to me.

  • Will the GX Series 25000LM 120W fit my vehicle, and how do I confirm compatibility?

    Fitment depends on the bulb socket type (e.g., H11, 9005, H7, H4, H13) and, for certain vehicles, additional hardware such as retainer adapters. The GX Series uses a near 1:1 halogen-like base design, but socket confirmation is still required.

    How to confirm:


    1. Use Auxbeam’s “Select Your Vehicle” tool on the Home page to match Year / Make / Model.

    2. If your model is not listed, email customer@auxbeam.com with the year, make, model, and the GX Series SKU you are considering; Auxbeam will verify fitment.

    3. For H7 sockets on certain VW, KIA, Hyundai, BMW, and Benz models, extra retainer holder adapters are required and must be purchased separately.

    Important exclusion: The GX Series is a wire-controlled H13/H4 design (not direct-plug), so the high/low beam orientation during installation follows the wire-control specific rule: for H13, the low-beam lamp bead must face up; for H4, the light shielding plate must face down.

  • Will the GX Series cause glare for oncoming drivers?

    The GX Series is designed to match the halogen filament position so the beam pattern stays focused downward with a distinct cutoff point; the product specification states “no blinding or glare to oncoming traffic”. However, final glare performance depends on headlight housing condition and aiming. If the housing is hazy, damaged, or the aim was already off before installation, the high-output LED can amplify glare.

    Supporting specification: 25,000LM per pair, 6500K, with a “super-focused beam” and “wider and farther illumination range” while maintaining the cutoff. For vehicles with projector housings, the cutoff is generally more controlled; for reflector housings, re-aiming after installation is strongly recommended to keep the cutoff at the correct height.

  • How easy is installation, and what should I check?

    The GX Series is marketed as a 10-minute quick installation with a near 1:1 mini size designed like halogen, so for most users the mechanical insertion is straightforward. However, three practical issues account for most installation friction:


    1. H7 retainer adapter: Certain VW, KIA, Hyundai, BMW, and Benz models require an extra H7 retainer holder; without it the bulb may sit loose.

    2. Dust cover clearance: The cooling fan / heat sink may be too large or too long for the original dust cover; a silicone dust cap is needed as a replacement.

    3. Polarity / connector seating: For bulbs that exhibit no-light behavior after plugging in, verify the connector is fully seated and, where the vehicle-side wiring allows, check for reversed polarity. A partially seated connector is a common cause of intermittent flicker, not a defect.

  • The GX Series has built-in CANBUS — why does my car still flicker or show error codes?

    Auxbeam states the GX Series built-in driver improves compatibility with 99% of vehicles, but certain sensitive brands may still flicker after installation — explicitly described as “not a quality issue” — and require specific CANBUS decoders . The brands specifically called out are: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, Dodge, Ford Fusion, Ford Focus, Ford Escape. For Ram and Dodge, market feedback indicates decoding failure is relatively common and a dedicated decoder is usually needed.

    Fix path:


    1. Confirm the connector is fully seated before assuming a decoding problem.

    2. If flicker or error persists, add the appropriate Auxbeam CANBUS decoder for the vehicle. Auxbeam offers C10-Model (purely resistive) and C20-Model (capacitor + resistor) decoders; the C20 is used for digital-to-analog signal conversion and different capacitor/resistor values achieve different decoding functions.

    3. Decoder installation is polarity-sensitive: the socket has “+” and “−” markings; reversed insertion will prevent it from working

  • How is GX Series H13/H4 wire-controlled installation different from direct-plug bulbs?

    Do not simply rotate to the 3–9 o’clock position. For H13 wire-controlled: low-beam lamp bead on top, high-beam on bottom; the locking point sits on the low-beam side. For H4 wire-controlled: the light shielding plate must face down. Wrong orientation can reverse high/low beam.
